Now that I got your attention. I want you to understand that there are many wonderful men who are searching for that special person to share their life with. You just have to know what you are looking for.
I was browsing through Oprah’s site and this heading jumped right out at me. “Good Character Values – The Number One Thing to Look for in a Partner” written by Karen Salmansohn. She also wrote a book titled Prince Harming.
Briefly, the article states that… Good character values come in handy not only on a daily basis but especially in times of conflict. “If you both do not value putting in the effort of acting with strong character values during times of disagreement, stress, crisis, temptation, etc. your relationship will always suffer.
It goes on to quote, John Gottman, a famed psychologist and researcher who says he can predict how long a couple lasts by studying how well a couple doesn’t get along. In other words how they respond in stressful situations. “A relationship is only as strong as its weakest link.”
If you want to live happily-ever-after in love you need to prioritize finding a man who
1. Values growing as a person.
2. Truly understands that a relationship serves the double of a “den of pleasure”and “laboratory for growth.” If he doesn’t understand the value of growth he won’t be ready to deal with the non-fun inevitable conflicts in a high integrity way.
Does your partner embrace empathy, listening, honesty, loyalty and growth?
Do you really prefer to place a higher value on a guy’s superficial aspects (his sexiness, funniness, smartness, wealthiness) more than you value his character, his soul? If so, there is a big chance you will end up feeling unhappy, frazzled, insecure or crazy!
