April 2013

Let’s be honest with ourselves.  Gay men have the absolute best taste in clothing, furniture, restaurants…you name it.  I believe it’s something they were just born with.  When you become friends with gay men you also become instantly Fabulous, Fierce, Fashionable and Fun.  At least that is how you will feel about yourself as long as they are by your side.  And, they will be for a long time.

I met John at a restaurant in the South End.  It was love at first sight.  He loved my jacket (thought it was Chanel) and commented on how attractive I was.  Well, “what’s not to love about these guys?” I was thinking.    Chad, was introduced to me as the new love.  I adored him instantly.  Handsome, smart and, of course, fun!My Guys!

Gay men give such support and encouragement, which is exactly what we need when we join the ranks of the over 50 daters.  We need to hear how gorgeous, desirable and youthful-looking we are.

Going shopping with gay men is the absolute best.  I was in the dressing room and they kept passing in jeans, tops and sandals.  My own personal shoppers.  And, rest assured, I came out looking “hot.”  My daughter asked me if they would shop with her when she saw my purchases.

Gay guys know the best restaurants to dine (usually very expensive) and the most fun Karaoke places (Do Re Me in Watertown)…and they love their Prada.  I don’t even own any Prada.  Hey, that’s right!  Not fair!  They are the best conversationalists and dancers.  And, are very open to sharing their world with you.

I have had some of my most fun evenings with my guys (including sushi on Christmas night).

They had nine groomsmaids in their wedding.  I was honored to be one.  As it turned out, I described their wedding as one of the loveliest and liveliest weddings I have ever attended.  The setting was so beautiful in Cape Cod.  We processed onto the lushest lawn while music of a live string quartet floated around us.  It was more than magical.

Their friendship has added a totally new dimension to my life.  I feel so blessed.

So, I strongly recommend that you add a few of these wonderful men to your life.  Always out and about on the weekend, you will be able to strut the new you while sharing drinks and laughter with your new friends.  And, they will be fiercely protective of you.

I realize that after a few drinks you may forget they are gay, but don’t even try to convert them.  Bisexual is not better than gay, only more confusing.

April 22, 2013

A woman over 50 has illusions of finding a wonderful man with whom to share dinner, theatre and dancing.  A man over 50 has illusions of finding a woman to have  sex with.  I must admit this was the stereotype that I had cast based upon stories and observations. Last year, I shared my life […]

Ivan The Selfish

April 8, 2013

Being raised Catholic I always believed that I was on this earth to help others and be accepting of differences in people. And I really did. I thought everyone was great and couldn’t wait to lend a helping hand. Never would I think that anyone would lie for personal gain. Now I know the answer […]
