Love Thyself First

Beautiful Woman

There is nothing that you have to do

or achieve to be worthy of love.

 Deepak Chopra

I have recently been exploring the power of meditation and how it can change your life by reprogramming the mind and all the negative stuff that accumulates over the years.   The stuff that prevents us from living our lives in absolute joy.

The 21-day meditations with Deepak Chopra and Oprah are online and available to all at no cost.  There is an option to purchase, but not necessary.  There are several 21-day meditations offered during the year.  You can always wait until the next free one becomes available.

I highly recommend this practice.  Ten to fifteen minutes each day will change your self-awareness and self love.  It will cause a major shift in your perceptions of self and others.

I find this to be so important in our relationships.  Before we step into the dating arena we should be in an emotionally healthy place.  How we feel about ourselves will affect the kind of people we attract and bring into our lives.

We often get stuck in certain areas and don’t quite understand how it happened and how to get unstuck.  Having a healthy self esteem will positively influence our daily interactions, and is necessary to prepare us for wonderful relationships.

If you define your self-worth through people, possessions or achievements, you will probably end up very unhappy. We should realize that kindness, honesty, trust, compassion and love are the keys to happiness.  Not the car you drive, the clothes you wear, or the mansion you live in.  Money doesn’t buy love or happiness.  (Although Helen Gurley Brown stated that it can make you comfortable in your misery!)

As Deepak Chopra states, ‘The approval rating of your ego is continually shifting.  Your ego may approve of your performance one day and then the next day judge you as inadequate or lacking.’  ‘You may ask…What do people think of me?  Do I look ok?  Did I say the right thing?’

Basing your self-importance on external approval is a no-win situation.

Think about the things YOU love about YOU.  Make that list.  ‘When you celebrate yourself you open yourself up to new relationships.’

Embrace the uniqueness of yourself, and share your wonderful self with the world.

Excuse me a moment while I step outside!

Fantastic advise and wisdom here!
How can we expect love from another if we do t love ourselves first ?
Meditation is taking time to be still with your beautiful self.
Thank you Dee for the reminder.
